BS4009 - Biology of Aging (prof esther wong said she wont be continuing this mod next year... but not sure if permanent or just for next year)

Elective:
CM8002 Forensic Science (the 3AU one)


This sem was my lightest load ever.Thank goodness though otherwise i would REALLY have died under cancer and developmental.

Review below the cut as usual.

As usual, review ordered in terms of things i have to say a lot about but actually this sem all are interesting mods to me.

CM8002 - Forensics (A +)
CA (MCQ) and Finals (MCQ and written)

Content is via LAMS online, and after recess week, there are physical lectures done by guest lecturers which are pretty interesting. There's a CA quiz, but it is pretty alright.
Did not expect the grade. I mean i did study for it but maybe expected A minus. So i guess studying really prepares you. I know I made at least 3 obviously mistakes as I missed out a chapter (case studies). Email me if you want some question banks I managed to find online.

(NOTE: LAMS sequences are best watched at 2x speed haha, and if you print the notes, just print them super small to save paper)

BS3003 - Developmental Biology 
CA (MCQ) and Finals (mcq and some SAQ)

You MUST go to lecture. Unless you are a genius. But really. Go to lectures.
Prof Peter Cheung is a good lecturer. (Remind him if his mic is not on, or going too fast, he'll listen). It's just developmental has a lot A LOT of parts to rmb and get used to at the start. But when finals came, it is actually okay, as they are all kind of related. So easier to rmb how the development goes.
(TIP: do mindmaps/diagrams of each axis of each organism. e.g. AV axis, AP axis DV axis and etc)

I really like /hate the content because it's interesting, but half the time you go out the lecture like nope, what just happened.
Study hard.


BS3004 - Cancer Biology and Therapy 
2 Assignments, One Finals (MCQ).

Uh... Okay so the Prof Melissa Fullwood just took over this mod this year (previous prof retired) and she did some curriculum changes, a bit of content change etc.
It's all okay pretty used to assignments and research after AY2Sem2 hell of assignments.

My only concern is how uncertain she is during questions but it is ultimately okay. She is a nice prof. Maybe she's just getting the hang of it.

(Oh, it was hell studying for this because the content has so many different things with not much link. Unlike Developmental, they're all related so easier to rmb.)

BS4009 - Biology of Aging
CA, Assignment, Finals.
Like said above, not sure if permanent of not, Prof Esther Wong said she wont do the module next year.
It is interesting mod to me, and she is a good lecturer. The first time i have encountered her teaching and it is good.

ML0002 - Career power up
One word - ugh.
I'm glad it's done.
